My Story

The Mesij began as a quiet rebellion. About five years ago, I grew tired of the same recycled advice, carbon-copy blogs, and cookie-cutter voices. Everywhere I looked, it was déjà vu in blog form, predictable topics, polished personas, and a glaring lack of nuance or diversity. I wanted more. So I created it.

The Mesij (a phonetic wink to “message”) was born from a stubborn desire to say what others won’t, explore what others skip, and serve the curious misfits of the internet who are hungry for something real.

Here, you’ll find the risqué, the overlooked, the wildly useful, and the oddly satisfying, all in one place. Whether it's practical wisdom, uncomfortable truths, or just a brilliantly twisted take on life, this is a space for those who think deeply, feel loudly, and never quite fit the mould.

I write like I talk: candid, unfiltered, and with 32 tabs open in my brain.
I’m raising neurodivergent kids while unmasking decades of my own.
I believe emotional honesty is a superpower, not a flaw.
I don’t do toxic positivity, nor do I rise at 5am unless legally required.

The Mesij is for those who feel too weird for the world, but far too wise to shrink for it.

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria: The Pain No One Sees

The Mesij2 months ago2 months ago08 mins

I once cried over an email. Not a breakup email. Not a redundancy notice. Just a colleague asking, “Can we chat later?” My brain translated that into: “You’ve messed up, and we need to talk about your incompetence.” Cue spiralling thoughts, a racing heart, and a sudden urge to delete my LinkedIn profile. If that…

So I Think I’m Neurodivergent… Now What?

The Mesij2 months ago2 months ago27 mins

It started with me Googling “Why do I hate phone calls but can write essays about my feelings?” And then, three hours later, I was deep in a Reddit thread where everyone seemed to have my brain. It was like being spotted in a crowd by a stranger who just gets you. No test. No…

Neurodivergent Life Admin That Actually Works

The Mesij2 months ago2 months ago06 mins

I’m Not Disorganised, My Brain’s Just Full What Is Life Admin and Why Does It Break Our Brains? Life admin, the boring but necessary tasks that keep us functioning: bills, forms, appointments, cleaning, emails, laundry, birthday cards. For the neurotypical brain, it’s a mild inconvenience. For the neurodivergent brain, it can feel like drowning in…

15 Ways Humans Love to Explain Things

The Mesij2 months ago2 months ago08 mins

Ever asked someone a simple question and received a three-part novel in return? Or found yourself nodding politely while someone explained something you literally teach for a living? Welcome to the wonderful (and sometimes wildly annoying) world of explaining – where clarity meets comedy, and intention often misses the mark by a mile. Whether it’s…

The Truth About Multicultural Communication

The Mesij3 months ago2 months ago09 mins

Let’s talk about something that’s become as essential as sunscreen in Greece: multicultural communication – or as it’s often called in professional circles, cross-cultural communication skills.  With more people packing up and moving across borders,  whether chasing sunshine, cheaper rents, or a slower pace of life – it’s time we faced a vital truth: Just…

Ghosting Hurts—But It’s Not About You

The Mesij3 months ago2 months ago09 mins

Let’s talk about ghosting. Because apparently, it’s 2025’s preferred form of communication, silence. Whether it’s in love, friendship, or business, we’ve all had that one person go full Houdini on us. One minute they’re replying with heart emojis, the next… tumbleweed. Now, let’s be clear: ghosting is not new. But the frequency with which it…

Semantic Abuse – The Wordplay Weapon

The Mesij3 months ago2 months ago15 mins

What is Semantic Abuse? Semantic abuse is like verbal origami, someone folds your words until they resemble something you never said. It’s a subtle manipulation tactic where meanings are twisted, your statements are rephrased inaccurately, and conversations become a game of distorted definitions. Unlike shouting matches, this happens quietly, in plain English, which makes it…

Vaginal Changes During The Perimenopause

The Mesij3 months ago2 months ago013 mins

So, there I was, cruising through perimenopause, thinking, “It can’t be that bad, right?” I mean, I’d heard about the hot flushes, the mood swings (those are just a Tuesday for me, honestly), and perhaps the odd bit of brain fog. But then I came across some new companions on this middle-aged journey: vaginal atrophy,…
